How many treatments will I need?
This depends on the particular patterns of disharmony that are being addressed, so very much on an individual basis. Often chronic conditions require further treatments to alleviate symptoms, while sports injury issues for example may be resolved in one or two treatments.
Will it hurt?
Acupuncture needles are tiny - one 25th the size of a syringe. there is a slight pinch as the needle enters but this goes almost immediately. The sensations felt in the immediate aftermath of needling are important to share with your acupuncturist as they can inform diagnosis and treatment. Some people feel a slight electric charge that runs along the meridians or a dull ache. Typically clients feel very relaxed and almost sleepy during treatments.
What do I wear?
Comfortable warm clothing that allows easy access to above the knees and elbows is ideal for acupuncture. Blankets are provided for comfort and warmth.
How long will it take?
The initial treatment take approximately 90 minutes. Follow up treatments take approximately 50 minutes
